COLLECTING AND RECYCLING OF AMBALAGE WASTE

The meeting with the representatives of economical societies EKOstarPAK, Belgrade was organized in Palilula Municipality aiming at the reducing of packaging waste quantity in life surrounding, preserving natural resources of Palilula Municipality and employment of socially jeopardized categories of people from Roma nationality population mostly included in collecting secondary raw materials. About the other activities and forms of cooperation in this area with the directors of economical society EKOstarPAK Vojislav Stankovic and manager of project, Nevena Pesikan and Marija Jovic spoke the president of Municipality PhD Igor Novakovic, Milos Stojkovic, member of Municipal Council as well as a Municipal coordinator for Roma issues Dragan Osmanovic and secretary of the Centre for active communication of Roma population, Bojan Zenulovic.

Taking into account the social position of Roma nationality in Palilula Municipality one could say that this organization of local self government puts lot efforts to complete integration of Roma into society. `We are doing everything in the limits of our competences to make prejudices disappear during employment, educations, not to have discrimination on any sort of level - emphasized Novakovic. However, it is necessary that certain issues of life quality for Roma nationality should be systematically solved. The questions of doing self- duties of Roma over the established system of management with ambalage and ambalage waste is a good solution. We will help the founding of the cooperatives- Roma social enterprise that will employ the interested collectors of waste from the territory of Palilula, mediate in getting the work license and offer the appropriate location for storing secondary raw materials`.
